Surfing Pigs at Donut Digs

5 weeks into the summer holidays and many mums are surviving on coffee and wine. Or is that just me?

A surfing pig? I’d like to see that!

Finding a café the whole family can enjoy, well… pigs might fly…

Or in this case, surf… at the awesome Beached Barrel in Geraldton.

Making the most of the picturesque beachfront location and warm tropical climate, the Beached Barrel has an inviting and relaxed vibe.

So one warm and sunny morning we pulled up a beanbag under the shade of a leafy tree while taking in the Foreshore view.

The morning menu of barista coffee and home made donuts sounds pretty basic… But  trust me – they’re not!

A donut dilemma occurred when deciding  which flavour to choose from the mouth watering offerings.  Lamington, Bacon Maple, The Homer, Cookies ‘n’ Cream, Lemon… I went with the namesake of my favourite chocolate – Ferrero Rocher! It did not disappoint.

The kids couldn’t go past The Homer and it must have been good as it kept them quiet for a good 5 minutes while I enjoyed my cappuccino.

We took note of the lunch time menu which expands to include artisan burgers and sliders with chips and cold drinks.

Our great experience prompted a bit of social media research. I discovered Beached Barrel opened in late 2016 and have amassed a strong following amongst the locals already – boasting 5 stars and 1935 Likes on Facebook

Kid friendly, beach front location, relaxed vibe, great coffee and fresh, delicious food – the Beached Barrel ticks all the boxes for us. We’ll be back to try the lunch menu…

… plus it’s the perfect spot to keep an eye on our surfing pigs kids.
