Sunday brunch has become a ritual here in Brisbane. It’s not quite breakfast, it’s not quite lunch – just the sweet spot in the middle of the morning where virtually anything goes. Every Sunday morning friends and family unite at the latest and greatest foodie joints in town, and rightly so. The food scene in Brisbane has really exploded in the last five years with hip cafes opening virtually on every corner, catering to every taste and budget. This weekend we followed our bliss, to a cute little eatery in trendy West End that seems to have that perfect balance between healthy eating and decadent indulgence.
Tucked away in a makeshift lane way appropriately titled Bliss Lane, Miss Bliss Wholefoods Kitchen is just off busy Vulture Street. When we arrived, the abuzz with atmosphere. Our accommodating host managed to create a long table in the heart of the action. The aroma of freshly ground coffee was intoxicating, the kitchen bustling and cute waiter donning pale denim and white tops were peppered throughout.
There were cakes, healthy treats and heavenly salads on display in the cabinets and the menu had everything from wagyu sliders to probiotic bowls. Impossible to disappoint even the fussiest of palettes.
We settled on a mix of everything including the probiotic bowl, salad and even some cake which boasted all the latest hashtags including gluten free, paleo, and even refined sugar free!
With our bellies full of goodness, we ventured out the back to the delightful Bliss Lane. A sun drenched courtyard complete with a vertical garden full of herbs, artificial grass and music. It was the perfect place to enjoy a digestive green juice and an extra cofffee for the road.
